Brief Review Of The Malayan Tiger

The appearance of the Malayan Tiger is very similar to the plane tiger. Its the smallest subspecies tiger, and can weigh up to 220 pounds. The length of the tiger is 92 inches long, they’re also 3 and a half feet tall, their tail is also 2 to 3 feet long. The Malayan Tiger has retractable claws and powerful shoulder to help it catch its prey. There short skullshelp there jaw get more power when biting down on its prey.

They usually are found in dense greenery ,overgrown areas or broadleaf forest. Other areas can be in mangrove swamps, dense cover, or tall grass cover. Those areas can help the tigers find a place to sleep or hide from a hunter or pray. The Malayan tiger can be located in South Asia, China, far east in Russia, and Eastern Shores.

The tiger can eat a lot of things, like dear, wild pig, or peafowl, zoo’s give them bones and muscle. Other things like buffalo, antelope, bears, leopards, pythons, and monkeys. Other things could be does, insects, small birds, fish. Mostly things that they can get their paws on (pun intended).

The main threat is humans Illegally hunting them down and selling them as rugs, or selling their bones anywhere. Threats that don’t involve humans are oceans rising which is cause salt to get into most of the fresh water . Not a lot of fresh water, and moving into populated areas with humans in them. Other things like diseases that threat them are Rabies, Feline Leukemia Virus, or Feline Aids or Hiv .

All the tigers patterns are not the same or look alike. When they are cubs they have white spots on the back of their ears it helped mother tigers find where their cubs are. The Mayan tiger also likes water, they also are great swimmers. They can run up to 50 mph to catch its prey and it has 36 teeth to help it kill its prey, and it has 9000 tastebuds. Malayan tigers exchange scents introducing themselves population. Sadly the population has only grown 40 percent for the past 40 years.

The final thing I’m going to talk about is the Malayan tiger conservation . They are moved to large complex with other tigers to keep them safer there. Laws are being put in place to protect them, and reduce economic impacts, also the tiger conservation act, so that people would stop hunting them. The U.S is not allowing any parts of the tiger to be imported into the U.S, also allowing no trading meaning that no part of the U.S is buying any parts of the tiger. There is 21 tiger reserves in India, there population is 3200, to 4000 tigers, and nobody is trading or transporting parts anywhere in the world.
